Acne is quite embarrassing. It usually begins on account of black heads. Black heads are formed when dead cells and oil get into skin pores. Acne results when hormones act upon the skins’ sebaceous glands, which plugs the pores, resulting in blackheads and whiteheads. They can occur on the neck, face, back, shoulders as well as the upper arms.

Home Remedies for Facial Acne
- Apply a pack made up of boiling 50 gm of raspberry, blackberry or strawberry with about 1.5 litres of water for 3 minutes, which will give you a soothing and itch- free skin. This is an effective way of treating acne.
- One tablespoon of groundnut oil to be mixed with a tablespoon consisting of lime juice as this is considered a very good treatment for acne.
- One can make a paste of fine oatmeal with natural yoghurt, apply it and let it dry. Wash it of with lukewarm water and let it dry completely. Afterwards, apply an antibiotic lotion depending upon the type of skin you have.
- The latest method is using Aloe Vera. Gels and soaps made up of Aloe Vera helps in curing the acne affected skin.
- The orange peel is useful in the treatment of acne.
- A paste of cinnamon powder and cinnamon powder can be applied while sleeping and washed off next morning. This is a good natural remedy for acne.
- Gram flour can be mixed in unboiled milk as this has been proved very effective for washing acne on a daily basis.
- Another remedy is to use a ripe tomato paste on the pimples. Wash it off after an hour of its application.
- One can use lime juice, which has been mixed in a half glass of boiled milk for treating pimples, cracked skin and blackheads.
- One can mix 2 tablespoons of white sugar and a tablespoon consisting of brown sugar. Wet it a little bit and rub it in.
- Lettuce leaves, after being saturated in water, being used to rinse the acne.
- A paste of powdered and roasted pomegranate skin to be mixed with lime juice and applied on the affected parts.
- Paste of turmeric powder and mint juice can be applied for 30 minutes. Wash the face and dry it completely.
- Freshly made mint juice can be applied every night.
- One can drink a glass of wheat grass juice on a daily basis to remove acne.
- Rub ice cubes on the face. This will tighten the pores.
- One can apply cucumber juice also on the face. It will also tighten the pores.
- One can make a paste of sandalwood mixed in rosewater and applied on the affected areas. Let it be on for a few hours and wash it off with cold water the following day.
- Sandalwood can be mixed with black gram and left overnight on the affected acne. Wash it off with cold water next morning.
- Make a paste of honey and a teaspoon cinnamon powder. Apply it on the scars before going to bed. Wash it off the warm water the next morning.
