What is Acne?
Acne is basically a group of inflammatory skin disease, which is characterized by skin rashes. Acne can have different causes and it is among the most common disease found all over the world. This disorder affects the skin’s oil glands. A majority of the population across the globe suffers from this skin disorder. It is especially common for youngsters.
What are the causes of acne?
Acne is caused when primarily by a bacterial infection in which the skin gets red and inflamed. When dirt and oil fills up the skin’s pores, acne can also be seen. Shedding of dead skin cells is a very common cause of acne infection, which occurs in young age. During this period these dead cells accumulate with the oil or sebum, causing this infection. Often during the growing years there is an imbalance growth in hormones, which makes the body less resistant thereby causing infections like acne. Another factor that contributes to this infection is an excessive stress, which leads to improper sleep and thus hormonal imbalance.
Diet plays an important role. Consuming various junk food and not taking in fresh fruits ,green and leafy vegetables, will lead you to this infection. Consume nutritious and healthy diet, and drink gallons of water in order to get rid of this problem. A steroid hormone (cortisol) which is secreted in hard-core tea and coffee drinkers is also a cause of acne. And finally hard scrubbing or rubbing of the skin can also cause acne. Acne can also be inherited from the parents .It is genetics or hereditary as per scientific observation. These infections are very painful, full of puss and large and solid lesions, which make the skin, look scarred. .
Home remedies for acne:
Medical intervention usually does not help and homeremedies are the best for acne. Check these out:
- Olive Oil: Wash the affected area with mild soap and hot water and apply a thin layer of extra-virgin, cold-pressed olive oil. Let your skin completely absorb the olive oil and don’t wash it off. Apply this remedy 3times a day.
- Oats: Take a mixture of 1/3 cup uncooked oats and grind them into a powder. Add 1/3 cup of water to make a smooth paste and apply it to the pimples. Leave this creamy paste to dry up and then peel it off. Lastly Wash it off with tepid water.
- Cucumber: Take the juice one cucumber. Apply the juice with a pastry brush to the trouble spots. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes and then wash off with tepid water. For good results apply this daily.
- Buttermilk and Honey: Apply a mildly warm paste of buttermilk and honey which has a thick and creamy consistency . Use a pastry brush to apply it and then leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Wash it off with tepid water.
- Vinegar and Garlic: Mix an equal amount of juice of vinegar and garlic cloves. Dab it on the acne very carefully, every evening. You will get good results within few weeks.
- Brown Rice: Brown rice is a very good remedy for curing acne infections as It contains amino acids. Have it on a daily basis.
- Coriander and Mint Juice: One teaspoon of coriander juice and a pinch of turmeric powder mixed together makes an effective home remedy for acne. Apply it on face after washing it before going to bed. Mint juice can also be used with coriander juice for similar effects.
- Fenugreek: Another effective remedy for pimples and blackheads. A paste made out of fenugreek leaves should be applied on the face every night before going to bed for prevention.
- Lemon: Lemon is another home remedy for acne and is readily available too. Its juice should be applied on the face for reducing pimples and acne.
- Orange Peel: Orange peel is effective in treatment of acne. Orange peel crushed and mixed with water should be applied on the affected areas.
