Essential Sun tanning Tips
Lying down in the bright sunshine and getting oneself tanned sounds exciting. The warm weather could be relaxing in the winter, and of course, in the summer, lying beside the pool is enticing. An athletic look can make you look sexy.

Sun tanning is very popular in the West and European countries, where most people would like to have their skin look brown for a sexy look. They spend hours in the sunshine near the swimming pool or at a beach to get a gorgeous tan.

Getting a suntan is a challenge. One has to be careful enough to avoid a sunburn. How does one tan oneself?

Tips for Sun tanning

1. Exfoliating Skin Carefully

One has to exfoliate the skin. One must not rub too hard to get rid of the dead cells. Gentle exfoliation helps in achieving a more uniform tan.

Tip: Exfoliating a day before tanning helps open pores, allowing for a deeper and longer-lasting tan. [Source: Healthline]

2. Choosing the Right Sun Lotion

One must choose the right type of sun lotion and spread it evenly on the body so that no part is left out. Suntan lotion, also a moisturizer, would be better as it would soften the skin. The dual-purpose cream provides both protection and hydration.

Tip: A broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is ideal for optimal sun protection. [Source: American Academy of Dermatology]

3. Full Body Exposure to Sun

The whole body must be exposed to the sun to avoid white patches of unexposed skin. Uniform exposure ensures a consistent tan without awkward patches.

Tip: Rotate positions every 15-20 minutes to avoid uneven tanning. [Source: WebMD]

4. Consistent Tanning Schedule

One must tan for one to two hours every day. One needs to tan regularly over some time. A scheduled routine will lead to a more natural and long-lasting tan.

Tip: Gradual tanning is safer and less likely to cause skin damage. [Source: Skin Cancer Foundation]

5. Avoiding Overexposure

Avoid overexposure to the sun as it would cause sunburn. Moderation is vital in preventing skin damage.

Tip: Limit sun exposure to 30 minutes for sensitive skin to reduce the risk of burns. [Source: Mayo Clinic]

6. Protecting Head and Eyes

Use a sunhat and goggles to protect your head and eyes from the heat. Additional accessories add an extra layer of safety against UV rays.

Tip: Choose UV-blocking sunglasses for maximum eye protection. [Source: CDC]

7. Showering Post-Tanning

One must have a shower after tanning. Avoid being in the shower too long. If you shower in the morning, then tan in the afternoon. Shower helps to get rid of the suntan lotion that you have applied on the body. Quick showers are best for preserving the new tan.

Tip: Use lukewarm water to avoid stripping the tan prematurely. [Source: Self]

8. Using Soap Selectively

Avoid using soap, except in spots that stink, such as underarms. Limiting soap use helps maintain the skin’s natural oils.

Tip: Opt for gentle cleansers instead of harsh soaps. [Source: Health.com]

9. Moisturizing Regularly

One must make use of a moisturizer. Select a good brand. Use the moisturizer when you get up when you tan, and before going to sleep at night. Moisturizing the skin keeps it supple and soft. Consistent moisturizing enhances skin texture and the tan’s longevity.

Tip: Look for moisturizers with hyaluronic acid or aloe vera for added hydration. [Source: Medical News Today]

10. Staying Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Keeping the skin well hydrated ensures that the skin remains full of freshness and vitality. Hydration also aids in achieving a glowing tan.

Tip: Aim for at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep skin plump and radiant. [Source: Johns Hopkins Medicine]

It is superb to go around with a gorgeous suntan. Everybody will envy you. Make sure you take the necessary precautions so that you do not end up with a sunburn and fall sick in the heat.
